Former Minister of Transport under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has dismissed rumours of his defection, affirming his unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sambo, who also served as the Taraba State Coordinator for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign during the 2023 elections, made this known through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Sam Idiagbonya.

“Mu’azu Jaji Sambo goes nowhere; he is core APC,” Idiagbonya stated. “My principal believes in the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and he is confident that Nigerians will soon begin to enjoy its dividends.”

Addressing speculation about a possible defection, Idiagbonya emphasized that Sambo’s political loyalty and contributions to the APC are unquestionable.

“After serving as the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council coordinator who helped bring the government of the day to power, it would be unreasonable to suggest he’s leaving. Sambo is a loyalist and a gentleman who deeply believes in the Nigerian project. He remains a committed member of the APC,” he added.

The former minister also expressed optimism about Taraba State’s potential to play a vital role in President Tinubu’s economic vision of building a $1 trillion economy.

According to Idiagbonya, Sambo believes Taraba has vast opportunities, particularly in agriculture, to drive national growth and prosperity.

He called on residents of the state to stay united, support the current administration, and work collectively toward a more prosperous Taraba.
