Veteran Nigerian entertainer Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has firmly addressed long-standing speculations about his sexuality, stating clearly that he is not gay.
Speaking during an interview with KAATRUTH, as reported by Gossip News Now , the music icon explained that he has always chosen to live transparently, without pretending to be someone else for public approval. According to him, authenticity has guided his life and career from the very beginning.
Charly Boy emphasized that he does not conceal any part of his identity. He described himself as someone who lives openly, comparing his life to a book that anyone can read. In his view, people only hide aspects of themselves when they lack the courage to be truthful about who they are.
The outspoken entertainer further stated that if he were gay, he would boldly declare it without hesitation. He maintained that he has never been afraid to express himself and sees no reason to start hiding now.
In his words:
“If I was gay, I’ll be shouting it at the rooftop. I don’t hide myself. I commit my soul. I like to sit in the market square. By that I mean I’m like an open book. I can’t lie about anything because liars are for people who don’t have the courage to live their authentic life and I’ve been living my authentic life since ages. So and I don’t send anybody.”
Over the years, Charly Boy has built a reputation for his unconventional fashion sense, bold public image, and unwavering activism. His distinctive style and fearless personality have frequently sparked public debate and fueled assumptions about his sexual orientation.
Despite the speculation, the veteran performer insists that he remains true to himself and unbothered by public opinion.
