Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has expressed confidence that his side can compete with Arsenal for the Premier League title when the two teams meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, 30th November.

Asked whether Chelsea could halt Arsenal’s momentum, the Ecuadorian simply replied:

“Why not? They are doing really well, but we haven’t faced them yet.”

Since joining Chelsea for a then-British-record £115 million from Brighton two years ago, 24-year-old Caicedo has quickly established himself as one of the league’s most effective midfielders, renowned for his energy, ball-winning ability, and tactical awareness.

Despite growing praise, Caicedo dismissed claims that he is the Premier League’s best defensive midfielder.

“No. There are so many good players in my position. I’m doing my best, but I need to show more—with goals, with assists. I feel I can do more.”

He highlighted his recent performance against Tottenham, where he recovered possession multiple times and set up Joao Pedro’s winning goal.

“I believed I could get that ball back, then I did, then I made an assist. I can do that in every single game. I believe in myself and, for sure, I’m going to do it.”

Looking ahead to the anticipated midfield duel with Arsenal captain Declan Rice, Caicedo expressed admiration for the England international:

“Declan is excellent. It will be a great battle. People compare him and me, but we are not fighting—we both want to do well. I’m ready. Everybody is ready. I’m looking forward to it.”

Reflecting on his choice to join Chelsea over Arsenal and Liverpool, Caicedo said:

“Everything happens for a reason. I waited until Chelsea came for me. Some laughed, but sometimes you need time to adapt to a big team. Chelsea believed in me, and I want to give everything to this club.”

Already a winner of the Conference League and Club World Cup, Caicedo is determined to achieve more silverware with Chelsea:

“It’s time. We are heading in the right direction, and we are going to get there.”

Chelsea go into the clash with Arsenal at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday buoyed by recent victories over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final and Barcelona in the Champions League. Confidence is high, and the Blues are ready for the challenge.
