Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has shared how his wife, Chioma Rowland Adeleke, encouraged him after he missed out on another Grammy Award.

The Afrobeats star’s collaboration with Omah Lay, With You, had been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, but the prize ultimately went to South African singer Tyla for her track Push 2 Start.

That category featured a strong Nigerian presence, including entries such as Burna Boy’s Love, With You by Davido and Omah Lay, and Gimme Dat by Ayra Starr and Wizkid, alongside Hope & Love by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin. Despite the dominance of Nigerian nominees, none secured the award.

Speaking about the moment afterward, Davido revealed on Instagram that he initially reacted with disappointment, telling his wife they had lost again and suggesting they skip the after-party.

Chioma, however, responded with a calm and uplifting perspective, reminding him to remain humble in moments of success and gracious when things do not go as planned, while encouraging him to still step out and enjoy the evening.

Sharing photos from their outing, the singer recounted how her response shifted his mood and helped him approach the situation with positivity.

The post quickly attracted warm reactions from fans, many of whom applauded Chioma’s supportive stance and praised Davido for openly acknowledging how he handled the disappointment with maturity.
