Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has been elected National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) following the conclusion of the guild’s national election in Benin City, Edo State.

The development was confirmed in a statement released by her media office on Monday, December 8, 2025, highlighting that her election reflects the trust members place in her years of dedication to the growth of the organisation.

Amusa said she plans to bring fresh ideas, structure, and consistent service to the AGN Secretariat in her new role. She added that her experience in acting and film production would help her advocate for better opportunities for Nigerian actors and actresses nationwide.

Known for her performances in numerous Nollywood films and productions such as the Yoruba movie Dewunmi Iberu, Amusa expressed her commitment to strengthening the Nigerian film industry and ensuring it plays a key role in national development.

In addition to her new role, she serves as Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an initiative founded by Bashorun Femi Branch to unite top entertainers from Ijebuland, celebrating the culture and heritage of both Ijebuland and Remoland in Ogun State.

Gossip News Now previously reported that Rita Daniels, mother of actress Regina Daniels, lost her bid to lead AGN. The election, held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, to select a successor for outgoing president Emeka Rollas, was won by the current National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu.
