Nigerian comedian and reality TV star Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as DeeOne, has revealed that fashion designer Veekee James was once his girlfriend.

The revelation comes after Veekee recently commented on DeeOne during a podcast with VJ Adams, saying, “For someone like DeeOne, if you are a smart person, you will know that you cannot take him seriously. If you take him seriously, then you are either jobless or something else. I have really not seen him say something serious.”

The remarks sparked online discussions, prompting DeeOne to respond. In a video shared on Instagram, he clarified that their relationship is in the past and that he has moved on. He urged fans not to take celebrity disagreements personally and gave insight into their former relationship.

DeeOne explained that they were together shortly after his appearance on Big Brother Naija in 2018. He described the relationship as personal, with no bad blood between them, but admitted that he dislikes being controlled in a relationship.

“Personally, I don’t like people controlling me. Some of the things she asked went beyond what a boyfriend should handle,” DeeOne said. “She might be sewing or needing help buying something or delivering something, and I was like, ‘What’s going on? I’m a boyfriend, not a house help.’”

Despite the past disagreements, DeeOne wished Veekee and her husband well, stressing that he holds no ill feelings. “I wish them the best. I’m a fan of whatever they are doing because I’m not a hater and I have moved on,” he said.

He added a note to fans: “Don’t take all this personally. There are things in the entertainment industry that you may not know about, and the reason I’m saying this is because she’s the one that talks negatively about me.”
