Former Big Brother Naija housemate Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as DeeOne, has reacted to an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force following a video he shared online.
Gossip News Now reports that DeeOne made the development public on Thursday after posting a copy of the official letter on his social media page.
The letter, issued by the Force Intelligence Department (FID), instructed him to report to the FID Annex Office in Lagos via the OCCIOS team for what was described as a routine interview as part of an ongoing inquiry.
DeeOne explained that the summons could be linked to a video he recently posted about President Bola Tinubu during the president’s visit to Turkey. He said he was merely expressing his opinion as an ordinary citizen about something he found unusual.
Since sharing the video, DeeOne revealed that he has received numerous calls and heard mixed reactions, including accusations that his post amounted to cyberbullying or that he should not have mentioned the president or his son.
Despite the responses, the comedian affirmed that he stands by his post, insisting he acted within his rights as a Nigerian citizen. He also made it clear that he does not intend to apologize if the police inquiry is connected to the video.
DeeOne confirmed that he will comply with the police request and report to the office on Monday. He added that he will update the public on the outcome of the visit.
He maintained that his comments were personal opinions, not intended to harm anyone, and emphasized that expressing his views on national matters should not be treated as a crime.
