Prominent African Democratic Congress (ADC) member, Dele Momodu, has dismissed reports suggesting that he advised his supporters to withdraw their backing for former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who recently joined the ADC.

Momodu’s clarification comes after a post by an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as @judeski007, who said he supported the ADC coalition but questioned the idea of presenting an elderly presidential aspirant.

“Bob Dee, I hope you see this. I’ve been fully supportive of the ADC coalition, but we shouldn’t be pushing an 80-year-old candidate unless there are personal interests involved. If Atiku emerges, I’ll support Bola Tinubu,” the user wrote.

Responding to the comment on Sunday via his verified X account, Momodu set the record straight, stating that he never instructed anyone to stop supporting Peter Obi.

“At no point did I tell you not to support Obi. He is not my adversary,” Momodu stated.

He further explained that while he reserves the right to express his opinions based on facts and historical records, personal political choices remain individual decisions.

“I am entitled to present facts and historical evidence as I see them, and my political preference is mine alone. There’s no need for insults. In a contest driven by numbers, every voice matters,” he added.
