Black Market (Aboki FX) Rate
The U.S. dollar traded at mixed levels against the Nigerian naira on the parallel market (commonly known as the black market) on Thursday, October 23, 2025. According to updates from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos and other major cities, the dollar was sold at ₦1,499 and bought at ₦1,475.
These figures represent the average rates at which traders and individuals exchanged cash dollars for naira outside the official banking channels.
It’s important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the black market, urging Nigerians to conduct all foreign exchange transactions through official financial institutions.
