Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, has applauded Korra Obidi for her recent tribute at his father’s grave.

Over the weekend, Korra visited Fela Kuti’s burial site in Nigeria and performed a twerking dance, describing it as an offering inspired by Fela’s love for lively performances and expressive movement.

Seun Kuti welcomed the gesture, noting that it captured the bold and energetic spirit his father was known for. He wrote:

“You guys know what baba likes but you will never give him what he wants. E go better for you my sister.”

In related news, Nigerian singer Femi Kuti opened up about his unconventional upbringing with his father, the late Afrobeat icon Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Speaking at the Ake Arts and Books Festival in Lagos, Femi revealed that he grew up without formal guidance, learning instead through observation.

He explained that while there were no structured lessons at home, his father expected him to understand and navigate the world on his own, reflecting a unique father-son dynamic.

Femi recalled being pushed to read and learn independently, emphasizing that the typical parent-child bond was largely absent in their household.
