Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has publicly criticized popular Kayamata entrepreneur Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, widely known as Jaruma, accusing her of tarnishing his reputation and influencing his son to create inappropriate social media content.
According to Gossip News Now , the actor expressed outrage on Instagram after Jaruma used his name and image in a viral video he described as offensive and misleading.
Emeka Ike demanded that Jaruma immediately delete his picture and name from all her posts, stressing that he has no connection to her products or brand and does not endorse anything associated with her.
Addressing his son, Michael, the actor blamed his ex-wife for withdrawing the young man from university just as he was entering his second year. He said she convinced their son that education was unnecessary and encouraged him to pursue social media influencing instead.
Emeka explained that as his firstborn, he had hoped Michael would remain under his guidance and finish his education, just as he did before becoming an actor. However, he said his son rejected discipline and ended up following a path he never approved of.
He wrote:
“JARUMA! JARUMA!! JARUMA!!! What is this? Why are my name and picture attached to these embarrassing videos? You must be looking for trouble. If you know what’s good for you, take down my name and image from all your indecent posts. I have absolutely nothing to do with your brand.”
Speaking further, he expressed disappointment in Michael:
“I sent you to the university, but your mother pulled you out and told you school is a scam. She encouraged you to become an influencer or singer, saying you would blow like me. Is this the result? Is this the route to success?”
He lamented that he tried to provide a stable future for Michael, including securing a home abroad where he could study, work, and build a career, only for him to drift away.
Emeka revealed that his legal team is now reviewing the situation, saying what has been done to his son over time has affected him psychologically and spiritually.
He added that this behavior does not reflect the child who was once under his care and upbringing and insisted that both Jaruma and his son need serious help.
Concluding his message, he emphasized that his name represents years of hard work and integrity:
“I am a decent man, and everyone knows it. Stop dragging my name into things that do not align with my values. Remove my picture from your page. I worked hard for my brand—stop messing with it.”
