The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims that it held discussions with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf regarding an automatic governorship ticket for the 2027 elections.
The party’s Secretary, Alhaji Zakari Sarina, described the reports as baseless in a telephone interview, attributing them to what he called “enemies of Kano” attempting to disrupt the state’s political stability.
Speaking to Arise TV, Sarina emphasized that the APC has never considered or negotiated any automatic ticket arrangement with the governor, stressing that such reports are false and misleading.
He added that the party remains open to welcoming Governor Yusuf whenever he chooses to join but clarified that no secret agreements or assurances have been made.
Sarina also called on party supporters and the public to ignore speculation designed to create unnecessary political tension, highlighting that the APC’s priority is governance, unity, and development in Kano State.
He assured that the party will continue to promote a transparent and inclusive political process, noting that any discussions about future political alignments are purely speculative at this stage.
