Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has broken her silence following the circulation of a leaked audio that linked her name to Apostle Chikere Nwafor.
Gossip News Now reports that the controversy started when a recorded conversation, allegedly involving Apostle Psalm Okpe and a pastor identified as Martins, also known as Martin Ugbulu, spread widely on social media.
The audio contained unverified claims about Apostle Chikere and mentioned Eucharia, attracting significant attention within both entertainment and church communities. It also referenced a woman allegedly behaving inappropriately during a private matter, though no evidence was provided to substantiate the claims.
As the recording went viral, Apostle Psalm Okpe issued an apology, admitting that the discussion was based on hearsay and should not have been shared publicly.
During a live video session, Eucharia addressed the issue directly, stating that the narrative was an attempt to tarnish her reputation, which ultimately failed. She also warned bloggers and online critics against spreading false or harmful content about her.
She said:
“They wanted to rubbish my name, but God came through. There was a plan to stain my image, but it failed.
“Every mouth that has spoken evil against you, God will silence them forever.”
Many of her followers showed support after her response, condemning the circulation of unverified recordings and cautioning that such actions can seriously damage public figures’ reputations.
Eucharia Anunobi, a renowned Nollywood actress who rose to prominence in the 1990s, has appeared in numerous films and is also an evangelist and public speaker. She previously served as president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and continues to be a respected figure in the industry.
