Ex-Wife Levels Fresh Allegations Against Pastor Chris Okafor

Bessem Agnes Okafor, the former wife of Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor, has made a series of allegations against him, claiming he engaged in multiple extramarital affairs during their marriage.

Her claims surfaced hours after Pastor Okafor publicly accused his former spouse of infidelity.

Speaking during a YouTube livestream hosted by Aunty Adunni, Bessem alleged that she ended her marriage to the clergyman 14 years ago due to what she described as repeated acts of misconduct involving members of his church.

According to her, the marriage, which began when she was 18 years old, produced four children. She maintained that their union was formally conducted through both traditional and church wedding ceremonies.

Bessem claimed she chose to leave the marriage, not because she was abandoned, but due to what she described as prolonged embarrassment and damage to her dignity.

She further alleged that Pastor Okafor had intimate relationships with several women within the church, including choir members and the wives of deacons, and challenged church members to conduct DNA tests on their children if her claims were false.

“I married him when he had nothing,” she said. “When wealth came, his behavior changed completely. I endured years of shame, abuse, and silence for the sake of my children.”

Bessem also accused the cleric of dishonesty, manipulation, and inappropriate relationships, including alleged involvement with individuals closely connected to him. She claimed she had remained silent for over a decade out of concern for her children, but decided to speak out following what she described as false statements made by her former husband during church sermons.

She further alleged that after she left the marital home, a woman she identified as a church deaconess moved in shortly afterward, claiming the relationship had existed for years prior.

Pastor Chris Okafor has not publicly responded to these specific allegations at the time of filing this report.
