Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has slammed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over his recent comments alleging that opposition politicians are responsible for the growing insurgency in the country.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Eze described Kalu’s claims as “disgraceful, unfounded, and a clear display of sycophancy, eye service, and betrayal at the highest level.”

He urged the former Abia State governor to muster the courage to confront President Bola Tinubu with the harsh realities Nigerians are facing under what he described as Tinubu’s “clueless and woefully underperforming administration.”

Eze said:
“How could a rational person, not suffering from political hallucination, assume that opposition politicians are sponsoring bandits and violence to destabilize Tinubu’s government?

“Orji Uzor Kalu should be bold and patriotic enough to tell Tinubu that Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder and bleeding helplessly under his watch.”

He added that what the President needs are honest, visionary allies — not “lily-livered politicians desperately seeking favour by speaking from both sides of their mouths.”

Eze advised Kalu to focus on offering solutions to the rampant kidnappings, killings, and destruction of lives and property occurring nationwide despite the huge sums allocated for security, instead of shifting blame.

He also criticised Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who echoed Kalu’s position.

“My dear Senators Kalu and Oshiomhole, what we are witnessing across the country is not a calculated plot but a clear sign that President Tinubu has failed in his primary duty to protect Nigerians.

“He has no solution to the security challenges facing the nation. He is clueless, and it is disgraceful. Advise him — don’t blame anyone.”

Eze challenged the two senators to publicly name the supposed sponsors of insecurity, arguing that failure to do so amounts to cowardice and suggests complicity.

“Name them if you know them. If you know them, then it means you are part of them. Who are these politicians allegedly trying to make Tinubu fail, just as you claim they attempted with former President Goodluck Jonathan?”

He lamented that rather than address the real causes of Nigeria’s worsening security situation, Kalu and Oshiomhole chose to point fingers at the opposition without presenting evidence or naming any individuals.

“It is unfortunate that instead of confronting the root of the problem, they have resorted to baseless accusations while lacking the courage to name those they are referring to,” Eze said.
