Fenerbahçe have stepped up their efforts to sign Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, as the Turkish club pushes to finalize the deal before the transfer window shuts, according to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Istanbul giants have reportedly made Lookman one of their top priorities, with the club’s sporting director currently in Italy to conduct face-to-face negotiations with Atalanta officials and the player’s representatives.
Fenerbahçe Pushing Hard for Deal
Providing an update via his YouTube channel, Romano underlined Fenerbahçe’s strong commitment to completing the transfer.
“Fenerbahçe in Turkey are pushing strongly to sign Ademola Lookman,” Romano explained. “The club is working very hard, and their director is in Italy right now holding talks with Atalanta and the player’s agents.
“Fenerbahçe are fully committed to making this transfer happen. They are really putting in the work to get it done.”
Lookman Draws Continued European Interest
The 28-year-old winger has attracted attention from several top European clubs in recent transfer windows. During the summer, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich were both linked with the Nigerian international, along with interest from other clubs in Italy and England. Atalanta ultimately chose to keep him at the time.
Now, Fenerbahçe have reignited their pursuit of the former Premier League forward, with discussions still ongoing between all parties involved.
“Fenerbahçe are trying again to sign Lookman,” Romano added. “Negotiations are continuing between the player and Atalanta, and the club have not completely ruled out a transfer.”
Atalanta Open to Right Offer
Atalanta are understood to be willing to consider a sale if Fenerbahçe can meet both the player’s personal terms and the Italian club’s financial demands.
“Atalanta could consider this option if Fenerbahçe reach an agreement with the player and present a strong financial proposal,” Romano said. “Talks are ongoing.”
With time running out before the transfer window closes, negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days.
