FIFA has revealed the official poster for the 2026 World Cup, boldly emblazoned with the slogan: “42 nations. 1 dream.”
The unveiling on November 19 comes at a pivotal stage, with qualification across all continents now largely settled.
With hosts United States, Canada, and Mexico gearing up for what promises to be the largest World Cup in history, 42 teams have already secured their places, while the remaining 22 spots will be decided through continental and intercontinental play-offs.
Confirmed Teams by Continent:
- Europe: England, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Scotland, Switzerland, Norway.
- Africa: Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Tunisia, South Africa, Cape Verde, Ghana.
- South America: Argentina (defending champions), Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay.
- Asia: Japan, Iran, South Korea, Australia, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar.
- CONCACAF: Panama, Haiti, Curaçao, along with host nations.
- Oceania: New Zealand.
European Play-offs:
The UEFA play-offs will feature 16 teams divided into four groups, with each group staging two semi-finals and a final—all single-leg matches.
- Pot 1: Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Ukraine
- Pot 2: Poland, Wales, Czech Republic, Slovakia
- Pot 3: Republic of Ireland, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo
- Pot 4: Romania, Sweden, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland (via UEFA Nations League)
Top seeds will host fourth-seeded teams, and second seeds will host third seeds. Venues for the finals will be decided through a separate draw.
Intercontinental Play-offs:
Two final World Cup spots will be determined through intercontinental play-offs. Iraq and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are seeded, awaiting the winners of knockout matches featuring Bolivia, Jamaica, Suriname, and New Caledonia. FIFA confirmed that Mexico will host all intercontinental play-off fixtures.
