Renowned highlife and Afrobeats star, Flavour, has addressed claims suggesting he fails to support emerging Igbo musicians.

According to Gossip News Now , the controversy erupted after a social media user named Charles alleged that Flavour prioritizes his own career while disregarding rising talents from the South-East.

Charles argued that numerous skilled Igbo artistes are struggling to gain visibility in the music industry because established figures from the region, including Flavour, are not offering them opportunities to grow.

He insisted that Flavour has never taken steps to sign, promote, or collaborate with any budding Igbo artistes.

The critic also questioned Flavour’s affiliation with controversial entertainer and cleric Odumeje, stating that such partnerships contribute nothing to the advancement of young musicians.

Charles further accused the singer of deliberately avoiding collaborations with new artistes out of fear that they might eventually surpass him.

He claimed this alleged lack of support among Igbo musicians has led many young creatives into frustration and despair after their ambitions fail to materialize.

In his response, Flavour urged the critic to focus on building wealth and establishing his own record label if he truly wants to assist young Igbo artistes.

Flavour wrote:
“I have given you people one serious advice for the new year. Jee chuba ego o. Chuta ego then start your own label make you help the wonderfully talented Igbo boys scattered all over. Make us proud, Odogwu Charles.”
