The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the South-South zone, Victor Giadom, has asserted that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, remains the undisputed political force in Rivers State.

Giadom stated that no politician — including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara — can secure electoral success in Gokana Local Government Area without the backing and approval of Wike.

He made the remarks on Tuesday during Wike’s Thank You Visit to Gokana, where he emphasized that the people of the area remain firmly loyal to Wike and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Giadom declared Gokana a stronghold that is firmly out of reach for rival political interests.

“I can confidently say that the people of Gokana stand solidly with Wike and President Tinubu. Nobody, not even Governor Fubara, can win anything here without passing through Wike,” he said.

Also addressing the gathering, former Rivers South-East Senator Magnus Abe reaffirmed the community’s allegiance to Wike and Tinubu, describing Wike as a unifying leader whose loyalty delivers results.

“Wike brings people together, and that unity is why we are standing strong today. Anyone who follows Wike will not return empty-handed. The Ogoni people are firmly behind you and President Tinubu,” Abe said, adding that Tinubu does not need to campaign in Gokana due to overwhelming support.

Similarly, Dumle Maol, Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, pledged unwavering support for Wike, assuring him that the people of Gokana would follow his political direction without hesitation.

Chairman of Gokana Local Government Council, Confidence Deko, echoed the sentiment, crediting Wike’s developmental efforts for the community’s loyalty. He promised that when elections approach, the people of Gokana would act decisively in line with Wike’s guidance.

In response, Wike thanked the community for the warm reception and longstanding support, explaining that the visit was simply to express gratitude. He urged continued unity, noting that collective purpose always attracts progress.

The FCT Minister also highlighted that members of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC in Rivers State are united under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that cooperation across party lines is already in motion.
