Galatasaray president Dursan Ozbek has confirmed that the Turkish club is open to selling Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen at any time.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray from Serie A side Napoli, playing a pivotal role in helping the Yellow and Reds secure a domestic double. Following his standout performances, the club completed a permanent transfer for the striker in the summer, fending off competition from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

“We said that if we bought Osimhen, Galatasaray would benefit from this deal. Considering his age and performance, he’s a player who can be sold to another club at any time,” Ozbek told GT Spor and Haberturk TV.

Reports have linked Osimhen with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, who are reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

Back home in Nigeria, former international Yakubu Aiyegbeni has criticised the Super Eagles’ over-reliance on Osimhen, claiming it cost the team a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Gossip News Now reports that Osimhen had scored a hat-trick against Gabon to help Nigeria reach the African playoff final. However, he was substituted at halftime during the decisive loss to the Democratic Republic of Congo — a move Aiyegbeni believes impacted the team’s performance.

“We have like four other strikers, but only one delivers. Only one plays like a madman on the pitch. He’s aggressive and livid when things go wrong,” Aiyegbeni said on the Home Turf podcast. “We only have Osimhen. I think the rest are just happy to be in the national team.”
