Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has debunked reports claiming that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has a release clause in his current contract with the Turkish champions.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently this summer following an impressive loan spell under coach Okan Buruk last season. The club reportedly paid €75 million to trigger his release clause from Napoli, prompting speculation that a similar clause was inserted into his new deal in Turkey.

Speaking during a sponsorship event on Friday, Ozbek clarified the situation.

“Osimhen’s contract doesn’t contain any exit clause,” he said. “He’s an exceptional player who will remain an important part of Galatasaray for many years.”

Since rejoining the Istanbul giants, Osimhen has been in top form, contributing significantly to their strong start to the Turkish Super Lig campaign.

Meanwhile, in England, Fulham manager Marco Silva has ruled out Samuel Chukwueze from Saturday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United as the Nigerian winger continues to recover from a calf injury sustained on international duty.

“Joachim Andersen has a muscle injury and will miss the Newcastle match. Antonee Robinson and Rodrigo are also unavailable, while Chukwueze is still out,” Silva told the club’s official website.

Chukwueze, who has made just two league appearances for Fulham since joining, is expected to return to full training before the end of the month.
