The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, following heightened monitoring of cyber-related activities ahead of 31st night religious services.

The arrest was carried out by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team and was disclosed in an official statement published on the police service’s website on Wednesday.

While confirming the development, the police did not specify the exact allegations against Eshun or the nature of the conduct being investigated. Authorities stated that the action forms part of broader efforts to prevent online activities capable of triggering public fear or unrest during sensitive periods.

“The Ghana Police Service confirms the arrest of a man identified as Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team,” the statement said.

“The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to monitor and address cyber-related activities, particularly in the period leading up to 31st night religious services,” it added.

The announcement follows widespread public speculation that the arrest may be linked to recent security warnings against public prophecies or declarations capable of inciting panic or disrupting public order.

Ebo Noah recently went viral after unveiling a large wooden structure he described as an ark, predicting an apocalyptic flood set to begin on December 25. He claimed the structure, known as the Ebo Noah Ark, was built following divine instruction and warned of a devastating three-year rainfall unless the public repented.

In a subsequent video released last week, Eshun said the prophesied disaster had been averted after he embarked on days of fasting and prayer. He claimed a new revelation showed the ark was already overfilled, prompting divine approval for additional time to construct more arks.

According to the police, Eshun remains in custody to assist ongoing investigations. No formal charges, court dates, or bail conditions have been announced as of the time of this report.

The Ghana Police Service urged the public to remain calm and avoid speculation, reiterating that any legal actions would follow due process and that the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
