Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has criticized the conduct of some fans and colleagues following the death of actress and filmmaker Allwell Ademola, calling out what she described as insensitive behavior on social media.
Reacting to the situation via her Instagram page, Bakare expressed disappointment that certain individuals appear more interested in generating online content than showing respect and empathy for the late actress.
She lamented that even some people who were reportedly close to Allwell have continued to remain active on entertainment platforms, posting videos, engaging in online games, and accepting virtual gifts shortly after the tragic news broke.
According to Bakare, such actions reflect a lack of consideration and respect for the deceased and her loved ones. She described the trend as disturbing and painful to witness, emphasizing that people should be more mindful during periods of mourning.
Bakare ended her message with a reminder that actions do not go unnoticed, stressing that accountability ultimately lies with God.
Allwell Ademola passed away on Saturday, December 27, at the age of 49. She was rushed to Ancilla Hospital in Agege, where she was later confirmed dead. The late actress built a notable career across both English and Yoruba-language films, earning respect and recognition within the Nigerian movie industry.
