Nigerian singer Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has revealed that only a small number of artistes in the Nigerian music industry have not been involved in cult groups.

In posts shared on his 𝕏 account, Naira Marley highlighted that, despite the widespread cult affiliations, some artistes still move around with police protection.

He stated, “We no reach five wey never join cult for this industry. Person wey put you for cult sef dey carry police escort up and down. Everybody then just dey act like if we enter Naija or if them see us, dem go do something to us.”

Addressing past controversies, including accusations linking him to the death of his former signee, Mohbad, Naira Marley clarified that any deaths or attacks within the industry should not be attributed to him.

He further explained that many artistes maintain connections with cult groups not out of genuine friendship, but for strategic alliances and mutual benefit.

“I no get problem with anybody o. If anybody die, no be me o… na dem go kill each other finish. Dem no even like each other properly, na because of us dem link up,” he added.
