Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has opened up about a recent dating experience that left her questioning how some men show—or fail to show—care in early relationships.

Gossip News Now reports that the incident occurred after she stopped responding to a man based in the UK. In a detailed Instagram video, she explained that he reached out to ask why she had gone silent, unaware that she had just been in a minor car accident that damaged two of her tyres.

When she told him what had happened, he merely asked if she was okay and ended the conversation with a short message. Nkechi said his response showed no real effort or concern.

She explained that a man who is serious about building a relationship should show care in moments where it matters. According to her, she wasn’t expecting financial help, but she hoped for a gesture of support or concern. Ultimately, she fixed the tyres herself.

Hours later, the man sent another message asking if she had resolved the issue. She simply replied that she had bought two new tyres.

Nkechi contrasted this with how a male friend in Abuja treated her. When she told him she had work in the city, he immediately offered to cover her hotel arrangements. Even when she tried to handle it on her own, he insisted on taking care of it—a gesture she described as a true example of how a man who genuinely cares behaves.

She emphasized that while she values her independence, she believes a man should show effort when it counts. It’s not about relying on someone, but about knowing the person is willing to act when needed.

The actress concluded by saying she has no interest in dating a man who cannot demonstrate that he can take care of her. She added that she is currently single and talking to more than one person.
