Nigerian content creator, Carter Efe, has opened up about a prolonged dispute with the mother of his daughter, Charis, while reflecting on his recent rise to the top of Africa’s Twitch scene.

Gossip News Now reports that the 28-year-old streamer, who recently became Africa’s most-followed Twitch personality with over 500,000 followers following a collaboration with singer Davido, revealed that he endured two years of personal and professional challenges tied to issues with his former partner.

In a series of Instagram posts, Efe identified the woman as Emmanuella and claimed that she disrupted his life and career, including a period when he trended almost daily over unverified beating allegations circulated by activist Very Dark Man.

He said the controversy took a toll on his mental health, hindered his content creation, and left him financially strained for an extended time.

Efe also disclosed that he was denied access to his daughter for roughly three months, describing the experience as deeply painful, though not enough to derail his ambition and work ethic.

He stated that these struggles motivated him to work even harder, with the aim of securing a brighter future for Charis.

Sharing throwback photos from his early days, Efe recounted sleeping in a single room with his team while streaming to only a handful of viewers, hoping for a breakthrough.

He recalled being chased out of that room, describing it as one of the lowest points in his journey.

The streamer also took a jab at his ex-partner, claiming she had abandoned him for months and only reappeared after he achieved success as Africa’s biggest Twitch streamer. He contrasted this with the time when he was hustling with little support.

Efe said his recent happiness and increased online engagement came after he finally distanced himself from the toxic situation.

He credited God for his progress and emphasized that he remained intentional about his grind, despite feeling abandoned by those close to him.

Efe added that he has been single for over a year and has witnessed significant positive changes in his life since then.
