Renowned Nigerian music video director ThankGod Smith Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, has shared candidly about his prolonged struggle with kidney disease, describing it as an ordeal no one should ever endure.

Gossip News Now reports that Omori has been contending with the illness for several months, with his health requiring frequent hospital visits and ongoing medical attention.

In August 2024, the director underwent a kidney transplant in an effort to restore his health, but the procedure did not achieve the desired results. Since then, he has continued a challenging journey of repeated treatments and hospitalisation.

Reflecting on the toll of the disease, Omori revealed that kidney illness affects not only the body but also one’s financial stability.

“Managing this condition is a constant struggle,” he said. “The pain is intense, and survival depends on regular treatment and pain management. Many people lose their lives because they either cannot cope with the pain or cannot afford the care required.”

He added, “When you are battling such a serious illness, money begins to lose its normal meaning. Every naira you have goes toward staying alive, and the costs can easily run into millions, making it extremely difficult for many patients to survive.”

Despite the challenges, TG Omori expressed gratitude for his continued life. He acknowledged that his endurance has been made possible through resilience, the support of loved ones, and divine grace as he continues to fight the disease.
