Nigerian singer and songwriter Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has opened up about his deliberate decision to steer clear of trouble and embrace a peaceful lifestyle.
In a video that surfaced on social media on Thursday, shared by an X user, the Orente crooner explained that he has little tolerance for conflict and prefers to focus on maintaining calmness and stability in his personal life.
According to him, he intentionally distances himself from situations that could escalate into problems because his main desire is to live quietly and without unnecessary stress.
Adekunle Gold admitted that he understands his temperament very well and recognises that, in heated moments, he could say things he might later regret. As a result, he often chooses to withdraw from confrontations before they develop into more serious disputes.
The father of two further clarified that avoiding conflict does not equate to weakness or an inability to stand his ground when necessary. Instead, he said his actions are driven by a strong preference for peace of mind over drama or hostility.
He also questioned why some individuals seem drawn to conflict rather than choosing tranquillity and rest, suggesting that walking away is often the wisest option for emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
In his words: “Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. I don’t even want to be close to it; I just want to live.
“I know myself. My mouth is not good at all. Anyone who knows me understands this, so I avoid speaking out of anger or regret. I would rather step away.
“Why do some people not like peace of mind? Why can’t they just walk away?”
