Nollywood actress, Sarah Martins, has spoken out following her confrontation with operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI), who halted her street cooking outreach in Lekki.

Gossip News Now reports that the actress admitted she was wrong to have cooked on the walkway but expressed deep disappointment that her charity food items were confiscated.

In a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram page, Sarah described the officials’ actions as lacking compassion, especially considering that the meal was meant for underprivileged children.

According to her, the food was prepared for about 200 street children who depend on her regular feeding initiative for survival. She explained that many of the children had not eaten all day and were eagerly waiting to receive a meal before the disruption occurred.

The actress revealed that she broke down in tears, not because of the seized cooking equipment or wasted food, but because of the heartbreak and hunger the children experienced.

Sarah clarified that her outreach was not for fame or profit, emphasizing that her social media pages are not monetized. Instead, her goal has always been to connect with street kids, show them love, and remind them of their worth—a mission she has carried on for the past seven years.

She, however, added that the KAI officials could have handled the situation differently:

“They could have simply allowed me to finish cooking and feed the children before cautioning me about the walkway. It would have shown empathy and humanity.”
