Veteran Yoruba actor Femi Bright has opened up about a troubling episode in his home, which he believes involved unusual spiritual activity.
Speaking in an interview with Fright News TV, Bright described the moment the incident occurred. One night, he woke up around midnight to use the bathroom.
While relieving himself, he said he glanced out through the window of the master bedroom toward the corridor and suddenly heard a woman’s voice clearly calling someone’s attention to him.
According to him, the voice sounded real and close, but he chose not to react and quietly returned to bed.
It was not until the following morning that the incident began to weigh on his mind. He found it strange and asked everyone living in the house if they recognized the female voice he had heard.
When nobody could explain it, he told them he suspected that unseen forces might be gathering in the house, but his family members dismissed his concerns.
About two weeks later, Bright said he was directing a film project at a church in Igando. The production was sponsored by a woman based in Libya, and the church served as one of the shooting locations.
After the day’s work, the church leader informed him that someone in the congregation had entered a spiritual trance and insisted on speaking with him.
When he approached the person, the first thing they said was a warning that “witches were gathering in his house.”
Bright described the message as shocking, especially because he had told his family something similar after the unusual experience at home.
He added that this was not the only spiritual issue he had encountered.
According to him, a colleague once took him to meet a religious cleric who revealed that a fellow actor had allegedly attempted to hinder his progress through spiritual means.
He said that prayers and divine protection prevented any harm from coming to him.
Bright explained that these experiences made him believe that unseen battles can exist around people without their knowledge.
Recalling the incident, he said:
“There was a day I woke up from the master room in my house to go and urinate. As I was urinating and looking through the window out to the corridor, I heard a woman’s voice saying, ‘Mama, come and look at him. He’s out to urinate.’
“At that moment, it didn’t register. I went back to bed and slept. It was in the morning that I started asking who the woman was.
“I asked someone living with us, and they said they didn’t hear anything. That was when I told everyone that strange people might be meeting in the house.
“Two weeks later, after directing a film in Igando, the church owner told me someone was in a trance and wanted to see me. When I went, the first thing the person said was, ‘Father, the witches are meeting in your house.’
“That was when what I said earlier began to make sense.”
