“I’m Ready to Reconcile With Davido But He Has Some Explaining to Do”

Reality TV personality Phyna has expressed her willingness to mend fences with Afrobeats superstar Davido, nearly two years after their public online disagreement.

Reports indicate that the rift began in October 2023 when Davido liked a post on X that described Phyna’s fans as “useless,” a move that quickly sparked controversy.

Phyna reacted at the time by questioning why the singer appeared to harbor negative feelings toward her. Davido later stated that he did not know who she was, a comment that further escalated the situation and led Phyna to unfollow him on Instagram.

Speaking recently during a livestream on Twitch, Phyna revealed that she is now open to offering a public apology to Davido and hopes to rebuild their relationship.

She explained that she believes the initial fallout may have been the result of a misunderstanding and said she wants clarity on what truly caused the disagreement.

According to Phyna, before issuing an apology, she would like Davido to explain his side of the story so both of them can properly address the issue and move forward.

She said: “If I get the chance to stream with Davido, I’ll take it. He’s my senior, of course, and that’s normal. I’m ready to apologize to him, but before doing that, we need to understand where our quarrel really came from.

“Like Baba Ibeji needs to explain whether liking that comment was a mistake. Then he can share his side, because when he said he didn’t know me, it might be that we misunderstood what he meant.”
