As the countdown to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations intensifies, Morocco is gearing up to unveil a lineup of world-class stadiums that many believe will redefine AFCON hosting standards.

The tournament, scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, has shifted the spotlight to the host nation’s venues, especially with national teams across Africa releasing their provisional squads.

Spread across five major cities, Morocco’s AFCON stadiums combine cutting-edge architecture with the country’s rich cultural identity, creating an electrifying stage for fans and players alike. CAF has now detailed the official venues and match schedule, giving supporters a clearer picture of what to expect.


Rabat: The Heart of the Tournament

Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah – 69,500 Capacity

Recently reopened on 5 September 2025 after extensive renovations, this iconic arena is set to host a substantial portion of the competition.

  • Hosts the opening match: Morocco vs. Comoros on 21 December
  • Venue for several knockout games, including the semi-final and the grand finale on 18 January
  • Previous host of AFCON 1988 and the FIFA Club World Cup

Tade Annexe Olympique – 21,000 Capacity

Completed in just nine months, this modern facility features a natural-grass pitch, advanced lighting systems, and cryotherapy rooms.
Teams playing here include Tunisia, Uganda, Benin, and Botswana during the group stage.

Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan

Located on the historic FUS Rabat grounds and showcasing Berber-inspired architecture, this stadium hosts:

  • All Group E matches, including Algeria’s group fixtures
  • One Round of 16 tie

Stade El Barid – 18,000 Capacity

Situated in the Agdal district, the stadium is known for its intimate design and excellent visibility.
It will feature matches involving DR Congo, Benin, Uganda, Tanzania, and Botswana, plus a Round of 16 game.


Casablanca: The Legendary Cauldron

Stade Mohammed V – 67,000 Capacity

One of Africa’s most iconic football venues, dating back to 1955, renowned for its electric match-day atmosphere.
It will host games featuring Mali, Zambia, Burkina Faso, and Sudan, as well as the third-place playoff on 17 January.


Agadir, Fes, Marrakech & Tanger Prepare for AFCON Showdowns

Grand Stade d’Agadir

Located along the Atlantic coastline, this modern arena will stage high-profile clashes including Egypt’s games against Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Angola, plus a quarter-final on 10 January.

Complexe Sportif de Fès (Fes)

This venue is the battleground for Nigeria’s Group C fixtures:

  • Nigeria vs. Tanzania – 23 December
  • Nigeria vs. Tunisia
  • Nigeria vs. Uganda

Grand Stade de Marrakech – 45,240 Capacity

Equipped with advanced medical and media facilities, it will host matches involving South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Mozambique, and Angola, along with a key Round of 16 encounter.

Grand Stade de Tanger (Ibn Battuta Stadium) – 68,000 Capacity

A towering structure in northern Morocco, this stadium will host all Group D matches, featuring Senegal’s full group-stage campaign, as well as a knockout match.
