Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has dismissed circulating claims that she was arrested by the Nigerian police.
She made the statement while addressing viral wanted posters featuring her image.
Speaking on Instagram, the actress labelled the posters as false and misleading, insisting that the creators are merely seeking to drive traffic online.
“To all those spreading lies about me, it shall not be well with you,” Iyabo wrote. “Who exactly did they arrest? Your fake stories constantly worry my fans, who then call to check on me. You exploit my name to gain clicks and make money. Know this—you are inviting curses upon yourselves because I am a special being. Anyone wishing me harm will see it return to them.”
Iyabo’s message comes amid ongoing legal disputes with social media personality VeryDarkMan, who has been re-arraigned over cyberbullying allegations involving her, Tonto Dikeh, and others. She accused him of fabricating stories online for attention and website traffic.
The controversy also ties back to a WhatsApp group formed after the death of singer Mohbad, which VeryDarkMan claimed was secretive. Iyabo refuted these claims, explaining that the group’s purpose was to seek justice for Mohbad, including efforts to investigate his death, exhume his body for autopsy, and ensure a proper burial.
She emphasised that her participation in legal petitions has always been transparent, clarifying that she served as a witness rather than instigating any criminal proceedings.
