Jobe Bellingham Turns Down Manchester United Loan Amid Dortmund Frustrations

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham has reportedly rejected the chance to join Manchester United on loan, despite a difficult start to his Bundesliga career.

The 20-year-old, who moved from Sunderland to Dortmund last summer, was approached by United for a possible short-term switch. However, sources close to the player say he is not interested in a move to Old Trafford, particularly since the Red Devils are not competing in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Bellingham — younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham — has found regular playing time hard to come by under Niko Kovac, featuring in only two Bundesliga starts so far. He was left on the bench in Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Köln, only appearing briefly in the final minutes.

Despite his frustrations, the England youth international remains committed to fighting for his place at Dortmund rather than making a move he considers a step down in competition. Reports suggest he would only consider leaving if a club can offer him top-tier football and consistent starts.

Bellingham joined Dortmund in a £27 million transfer in July, a move seen as a major step in his development. However, he has yet to score in 12 appearances, and reports in Germany indicate growing tension behind the scenes.

According to local outlets, his father, Mark Bellingham, allegedly confronted Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl after Jobe was substituted at halftime during his debut — an incident said to have caused friction within the club.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are now expected to shift focus to Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher, who is seeking more game time under Diego Simeone as he eyes a spot in England’s 2026 World Cup squad.
