Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has explained that he had no choice but to defend himself during a mid-flight altercation with media personality Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof.
Gossip News Now reports that the confrontation occurred on a commercial flight.
VDM said he approached Mr Jollof to address their ongoing feud while they were onboard.
He claimed the dispute escalated into a physical fight after Mr Jollof allegedly threw the first punch, leaving him no option but to defend himself.
VDM added that he was bitten during the clash, joking that the incident nearly ruined his tattoo.
Passengers reportedly intervened to separate the two and restore calm.
He wrote on social media: “MR JOLLOF YOU BIT me, your fellow man. HABA JOLLOF WOULD HAVE KPAI ME IF I DIDN’T DEFEND MYSELF, GOD SAVED ME.”
In a related update, United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) confirmed on Monday that both VDM and Mr Jollof have been handed over to airport security.
The airline said this action followed the incident during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport in Delta State.
VDM and Mr Jollof have a history of heated online exchanges, which began after Otse accused the comedian’s wife of inappropriate relations with internet fraudsters, sparking their public feud.
