Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has addressed the reason behind his absence from a scheduled performance in Paris.
The incident quickly became a trending topic on social media early Tuesday, as fans expressed disappointment over his no-show.
According to the singer, the missed performance was due to a dispute between his tour agent and the event promoter.
In an Instagram post, Kizz Daniel explained that he was ready to travel but missed his flight because his agent was attempting to resolve payment issues with the promoter.
Documents from the agent’s company confirmed that the Paris event was ultimately canceled.
The “Woju” singer clarified that he was prepared to perform, but the contractual and financial disagreement prevented him from appearing on stage as scheduled.
The next available flight was later in the day, making it impossible for him to make the show on time.
He wrote on Instagram: “FSHALAYE. First, this wasn’t my fault. Whatever clips you’re seeing reflect a dispute between my tour agent @olamidebaron and the show promoter. I was paid in full by @olamidebaron to perform in Paris. He sold the show to another promoter, who allegedly breached the contract by not paying the balance. I will be posting the notice of breach of contract.
“I’ve been ready since 6 am for a 12:25 pm flight. Thankfully, my brother @adesope_shopsydoo was with me at the hotel. We were delayed from flying by @olamidebaron so he could secure his payment, which I wasn’t aware of until later. The issue was eventually resolved with the promoter, but we missed our flight. The next available flight, according to Baron, was at 5:25 pm.”
