Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has penned a heartfelt tribute to the late filmmaker Kayode Peters, marking what would have been his 50th birthday.

Peters, a celebrated Nigerian film and stage producer, passed away in June in Canada. He was laid to rest on August 2 at Milton Evergreen Cemetery, Ontario, following a funeral service at McKersie & Early House Funeral Home. His death was a heavy blow to the entertainment industry, which mourned the loss of a creative mind who left his mark on both stage and screen.

Commemorating Peters’ birthday, Remi shared an emotional message on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the friendship they shared and pledging his unwavering support to Peters’ family.

“Happy heavenly 50th birthday, King KP. Will always be grateful for the time spent together. Our love and prayers with your family. We dey here for Alexis and your babies,” he wrote.

The actor also reflected on how deeply he misses their conversations, revealing that he still carries their memories with him. In his tribute, he lightened the mood by sharing updates he wished he could tell Peters in person—from the recurring Lekki floods to his own growth as an actor and father.

Remi concluded by promising to hold on to those “gists” until the day they meet again.
