Kwara United goalkeeper Nurudeen Badmus has clinched the club’s Player of the Month award for October, following an exceptional run of form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Badmus dominated the voting with 85.71% of fan ballots, beating fellow nominees Aule Johnmark, Gidado Toheeb, and Yahaya Ibrahim. His standout performances included clean sheets against Katsina United and Rangers — key contributions to Kwara United’s ongoing rise in the league.

The goalkeeper continued his fine form into November, helping the Harmony Boys secure a convincing 3-1 win over defending champions Remo Stars at the Rashidi Yekini Stadium, with Junior Aimufua netting a brace and Babatunde Bright adding another.

Praising his players, Kwara United head coach Ashifat Suleiman said:

“We didn’t start well, but we regained our composure. Full credit to the players for showing discipline and determination.”

In other NPFL action, Bayelsa United edged Plateau United 2-1 at the Samson Siasia Stadium, thanks to a brace from Emo James. Plateau United’s Gideon Monday scored their only goal.

Bayelsa coach Meremu Okpara commended his team’s intensity:

“It was a difficult match, but we gave everything and deserved the win.”

Meanwhile, Rivers United handed Nasarawa United a 1-0 defeat in Port Harcourt, knocking them off the league summit. Despite the loss, coach Mbwas Mangut praised his youthful squad and congratulated the hosts:

“We are a motivated young team. We’ll keep pushing to make a name for ourselves.”

Elsewhere, Wikki Tourists held Barau FC to a goalless draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Despite dominating proceedings, Wikki were thwarted repeatedly by Barau goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed.

Coach Abdu Maikaba reflected positively:

“Securing a point here is important. We’ll continue to improve and come back stronger.”
