The Lagos chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, praising his leadership experience and commitment to governance.
The group’s president, Sunday Udeh, made the announcement during a reconciliation meeting organized by Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement. The meeting aimed to promote harmony between Yoruba and Igbo residents in Lagos, especially in light of recent demolition exercises.
Speaking with journalists, Udeh described Tinubu as a capable and visionary leader who has demonstrated an understanding of governance and national unity. He also expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure victory again in 2027.
“We are not in doubt about his victory in 2027. We know our party, the APC, will win again,” Udeh said.
He urged continued peace and cooperation between the Yoruba and Igbo communities, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and inclusivity in maintaining unity across the state.
Udeh acknowledged that relations between the Igbo community and the Lagos State Government had faced strain after the 2023 elections but assured that ongoing engagement would help rebuild mutual trust.
“2027 is close. We know our party will take it. I am a member and will work for the party,” he added.
Similarly, the National President of the Market Leaders Association of Nigeria (TMLAN), Charles Obih, pledged the full support of the Igbo business community for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“We will mobilize our members to ensure President Tinubu’s re-election is smooth and successful by the grace of God,” Obih stated.
He commended Tinubu’s resilience and problem-solving approach, noting that despite inheriting difficult national challenges, the President has continued to address them with focus and determination.
