Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has sparked debate online following her remarks on the tragic road accident in Ogun State that claimed the lives of two close associates of British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua.

In a video shared on social media, Anjorin placed responsibility on Joshua’s mother, questioning her decision to allow the boxer to travel to his hometown during the festive season instead of staying in more secure areas of Lagos such as Lekki, Ikoyi, or Banana Island.

She argued that opting for safer, more controlled locations could have reduced the risks associated with his movements during the busy holiday period.

“The mother of Anthony Joshua should be held responsible,” Anjorin stated. “Instead of placing her son in a safe environment like Lekki or Ikoyi, she allowed him to return to his village during the festivities. What kind of mother would allow that? Why couldn’t she settle him in places like Ikoyi or Banana Island?”

The accident, which took place in Ogun State, tragically resulted in the deaths of two members of Joshua’s entourage, though the boxing star himself survived unharmed.

Anthony Joshua had reportedly travelled to Nigeria to reconnect with his family and embrace his roots when the unfortunate incident occurred, adding a somber note to the holiday season.
