Emmanuel Otti, Chairman of the Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State, has accused the factional National Chairman, Julius Abure, and his supporters of defying the Supreme Court ruling of April 2025.

Otti lamented that despite a court order prohibiting the nationwide conduct of LP congresses, the Abure-led faction went ahead with its meetings. He dismissed the recent congresses as a “kangaroo exercise” and warned that such actions could invite divine retribution.

“Remember that in April this year, there was a Supreme Court judgement, and that judgement must be followed to the last. So, if you go contrary to the law of the land, the gods will hit you. If at all they held any congress anywhere, it was a kangaroo exercise,” Otti said.

On the welfare of LP members in Abia, Otti denied claims that Governor Alex Otti had sidelined party members. He stated that those who contributed to the Governor’s victory are well accommodated within the administration.

He further revealed that a recent sensitisation and evaluation tour across various local government areas confirmed the satisfaction of LP members with Governor Otti’s performance.

Otti concluded by declaring that Governor Otti and the Labour Party are poised to win elections across Abia in 2027, citing the Governor’s unprecedented achievements as a key factor.
