Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has relieved Professor Olanike Adeyemo of her duties as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju. Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde has been appointed as her replacement.
Governor Makinde also implemented a minor cabinet reshuffle. As part of the changes, Temilolu Seun Ashamu has been moved from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to lead the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
Additionally, Ademola Aderinto, previously the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, has been named commissioner-designate and will undergo screening at the Oyo State Assembly.
Other appointments include Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
In a related political development, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1, Akuku-Toru LGA, Anabraba described his departure from the main opposition party as a personal decision.
He also expressed gratitude to the PDP for the political leverage and opportunities he benefited from during his tenure as a member.
