Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has spoken about the changing perception of single mothers in society, noting that attitudes have become far more positive.

Gossip News Now reports that the actress, in a video shared on December 20, 2025, said many men are now openly pursuing serious relationships with women who already have children.

According to her, single motherhood is no longer viewed as something to be ashamed of, as many single mothers are thriving professionally and raising successful children.

Iyabo Ojo explained that the long-held belief that single mothers should be sidelined in relationships is gradually disappearing.

She revealed that many men now prefer single mothers because of their maturity and life experience, adding that such men are often clear about wanting commitment rather than casual relationships.

The actress encouraged women who have experienced broken relationships not to give up hope, stressing that the end of one relationship does not signal the end of love or marriage opportunities.

Describing herself as the President General of the Single Mothers Association, Iyabo Ojo urged single mothers to carry themselves with confidence, dignity, and self-respect.

She advised them not to feel embarrassed about their status, emphasizing that having children does not diminish their worth.

Concluding, she reminded women that being left by a partner does not make them undesirable, assuring them that there will always be someone willing to love and accept them fully.

She said:
“Gone are the days when being a single mother was a stigma. Single mothers’ children are doing great things in life. Men are chasing single mothers now. Some even say they don’t want us as side chicks; they want to marry us because we have experience. If a man leaves you, another man will accept you. I am the President General of the Single Mothers Association.”
