Mohammed Kudus Faces Weeks on the Sidelines as Tottenham’s Injury Concerns Grow

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that winger Mohammed Kudus will remain out of action until after the March international break, adding to the club’s deepening struggles on and off the pitch.

The Ghanaian star was forced off just 19 minutes into Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Sunderland after signalling discomfort in his thigh. Initial hopes of a minor issue were dismissed after further medical assessments confirmed a more significant tendon injury.

“Mohammed Kudus unfortunately has a more serious injury to the tendon in his quad,” head coach Thomas Frank revealed. “We expect him to return only after the March international break.”

Kudus, who arrived at Tottenham last summer in a £55 million transfer from West Ham, has netted two Premier League goals this season. His absence could not come at a worse time, with the team already short on attacking fluency and consistency.

The situation worsened on Wednesday night when Spurs suffered a disappointing 3–2 defeat at home to Bournemouth. The loss was particularly deflating as Bournemouth entered the fixture on a club-record streak of 11 Premier League matches without a victory.

Tottenham now sit 14th in the league standings, having managed just seven wins from 21 games. With only one victory in their last six matches across all competitions, unease among the fanbase continues to grow.

Much of the frustration has centered on Tottenham’s lack of cutting edge in the final third. While Frank has repeatedly referenced injuries to key attackers — including James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke — many supporters believe deeper structural problems are contributing to the team’s struggles.
