Nigerian Afrobeats star and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi, has declared his intention to run for the presidency of an African country in the future.
The ‘Skin Tight’ hitmaker, who recently tied the knot with Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, made the announcement in a Snapchat video, stating that he wants to lead with vision rather than personal gain.
“I have been thinking about it, and I think it’s time to share it with you,” he said. “Some of you might be from an African country looking for a president—not one chasing money or power—but someone forward-thinking, young, and active. So, I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency.”
Beyond his political aspirations, Mr Eazi also reflected on challenges from his early entrepreneurial journey. He revealed that at age 19, he lost about ₦19 million in a failed diesel supply deal.
According to him, he raised the capital by borrowing from his uncle, a doctor, and his wife, planning to purchase diesel for resale. The deal, backed by what seemed like a reliable company, collapsed after sudden government deregulation caused diesel prices to fall sharply.
The investment was tied up for three months, and a major supply agreement with MTN ultimately fell through—an early but costly lesson in business risk.
