Muyiwa Ademola Explains Why He Missed Cousin Allwell Ademola’s Burial

Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has opened up about his absence from the funeral of his cousin, actress Allwell Ademola, in Lagos.

Gossip News Now reports that the actor revealed he was abroad at the time, preventing him from paying his final respects in person.

He shared his feelings in an Instagram post, accompanied by a photo of her gravesite.

Ademola wrote: “It’s a final goodbye, Couz. The hardest part is not being in the country to witness your last journey home. Your passing is a painful reminder that tomorrow is never promised. Every day we live is taken from the time we have left, and every birthday brings us closer to our final one. May we live long, amen.

“Sun re o Omo Oba EniObanke Ademola, bami ki baba mi Awofe Ademola, ki Uncle Adetokunbo Ademola… o digba o! O di gbere!”

Allwell, aged 49, passed away from a heart attack at her Lagos residence on December 27, 2025.

Her funeral proceedings commenced on January 8, 2026, with a Service of Songs and a candlelight procession held at Lagos State Television (LTV 8) in Ikeja.

Friends, colleagues, and fans gathered to celebrate her life and mourn her passing.

The burial took place the following day at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.
