Niger Tornadoes head coach, Majin Mohammed, has appealed to supporters to remain calm and continue backing the team following their 2-1 home defeat to Abia Warriors last weekend in Minna.
The loss at the Bako Kontagora Stadium sparked frustration among fans, but Mohammed expressed confidence that the Ikon Allah Boys would recover and respond positively in their upcoming matches.
“What happened in the game against Abia Warriors is part of football,” Mohammed told the club’s media team. “We went to Kano and got three points, so we’ll regroup and prepare well to face Wikki Tourists in Bauchi.”
Despite the setback, Niger Tornadoes currently occupy fifth place on the NPFL table with 17 points from 11 matches. The team will aim to bounce back when they travel to face Wikki Tourists this weekend at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has confirmed an adjustment to Rivers United’s matchday 12 fixture against Kun Khalifat FC.
Originally scheduled for Sunday, November 9, the match will now take place on Monday, November 10, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
According to Kun Khalifat FC’s General Manager, Charles Nnadi, the change followed a formal request from Rivers United, who are set to play a rescheduled matchday 9 fixture against Bendel Insurance on Thursday.
“The date shift came at Rivers United’s request due to their tight schedule,” Nnadi explained to Complete Sports. “The NPFL management considered their situation and approved the adjustment.”
The updated fixture aims to provide Rivers United with adequate recovery time between matches as they continue their campaign in both domestic and continental competitions.
