Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has called on Nigerians to start 2026 with renewed dedication to honesty, accountability, and a zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

Delivering his New Year message in Abuja on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Olukoyede emphasized that while the excitement of a new year is natural, it should also serve as a reminder of citizens’ responsibilities and ethical obligations.

He highlighted that lasting national progress depends on the collective rejection of financial and economic crimes, advocating for transparency and responsible behavior across all sectors.

“As we welcome the new year with optimism, we must also recommit ourselves to accountability and resolutely oppose corruption,” Olukoyede stated, urging a culture of discipline and integrity.

The EFCC chief expressed confidence that Nigeria could overcome poverty and societal challenges, noting that collective determination and adherence to ethical principles are essential for the country’s transformation.

Olukoyede further pointed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which focuses on restoring Nigeria’s greatness and improving citizens’ welfare. “Through these efforts, we can build a better Nigeria. Nigeria will rise again,” he affirmed.

Closing his address, Olukoyede wished all Nigerians a prosperous 2026 and encouraged active participation in initiatives that strengthen transparency, accountability, and good governance nationwide.
