Nigeria Will Overcome Corruption Rise Again – EFCC Chair Olukoyede Assures

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerians to back their hopes and optimism for 2026 with a renewed commitment to integrity, accountability, and zero tolerance for corruption.

Olukoyede made the call in Abuja on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, while delivering his New Year message to the nation.

He noted that while the excitement that comes with a new year is natural and uplifting, it should also inspire a stronger sense of responsibility and ethical conduct among citizens.

According to him, sustained national progress can only be achieved when Nigerians collectively reject economic and financial crimes and embrace transparent practices.

“As we usher in the new year with renewed optimism, we must also recommit ourselves to accountability and a firm stand against corruption,” Olukoyede said.

The EFCC chairman expressed confidence that Nigeria would ultimately overcome poverty and deprivation, stressing that discipline, integrity, and collective resolve remain key drivers of national transformation.

He added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is focused on rebuilding Nigeria’s greatness and improving the welfare of its people.

“We can build a better and greater Nigeria. This is the foundation of the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr President. Nigeria will rise again,” Olukoyede declared.

Olukoyede concluded by wishing Nigerians a prosperous and fulfilling 2026, while encouraging citizens to actively support initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance across all sectors.
