The Nigerian Army has officially opened applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to join both as civilians and serving military personnel.
A statement released on Tuesday via the Army’s official 𝕏 account confirmed that successful applicants will be commissioned into specialized corps, where their skills and expertise will contribute to national defense and security operations.
The recruitment process is free of charge and must be completed online. The application portal will be active from January 7 to February 4, 2026.
“The available corps include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Signals, Medical Corps, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Education Corps,” the statement read.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early and ensure all information is accurately provided.
