Nigerian reality TV personality Tacha has reacted to the criticism directed at Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following his on-field disagreement with teammate Ademola Lookman during Nigeria’s match against Mozambique.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred after Nigeria’s dominant victory, when Osimhen and Lookman were seen exchanging words on the pitch before teammates intervened.
Taking to social media, Tacha urged Nigerians to calm down and stop attacking the Napoli forward over the incident.
She argued that Osimhen should be regarded as one of Nigeria’s biggest football stars, likening his status to that of global icon Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to her, if Ronaldo had displayed similar behaviour during a match, it would not have generated the same level of backlash.
Tacha also emphasized that Osimhen consistently gives his all for the national team, suggesting that the clash was driven by passion and a strong desire to win.
She criticized fans who, in her view, were too quick to dismiss the striker, urging them to support their own players rather than tear them down.
The reality TV star went further to challenge critics, suggesting that the coach could even bench Osimhen in the next game so people could “see for themselves” how important he is to the team’s attacking strength.
She wrote: “Nigerians and ‘see finish’! Don’t you realize Victor Osimhen is our own Cristiano Ronaldo?
“If Ronaldo did the same thing, there wouldn’t be this much uproar. But of course, it’s Osimhen. Let the coach bench him for the next match—I want to see something.
“You guys should free Victor Osimhen.”
